Hiring the Studio

The quote we provide for studio hire will depend largely on which of the studio's services and facilities you use. The following is a list of elements which can contribute towards your quote, and having some idea of what you need for each of them will help us in providing a speedy quote. However, we are happy to offer advice and information should you need it.

Hire Agreement: Before any studio hire you will be asked to sign a hire agreement. It is vital that your own production insurance is in place. You may download the hire agreement here.

Basic Studio Hire: Based on how many days you require the studio for. Bear in mind that while our basic rate is low, any studio time needed for technical rigging, floor painting, set erection and dismantling will also be charged.

Use of Lighting Grid: See the appropriate section in 'Facilities'. Note that use of the grid will also require an electrician (see below).

Floor Paint: The studio floor can be painted before your shoot, and there will be a charge for this, as well as for a second coat of paint after your hire to return the floor to its original colour.

Electricity: Electricity is metered and charged at 10p/unit.

Crew and Equipment: See the 'Crew and Equipment' Section.

Qualified Lighting Electrician: If hiring the lighting grid, a lighting electrician approved and experienced with Giltbrook Studios must also be hired.

Overtime: We reserve the right to charge overtime on studio bookings which exceed 10 hours per day.

Use of Ultimatte Curtains: Please allow for time to erect the curtain.

Use of Dressing Rooms and Green Room: For very simple shoots where these facilities are not required, we will make a deduction from your bill.

Catering: See the 'catering' section.

Set Construction: See the 'Set Construction' section.
